‘Learning Centre Smart’ (LC SMART) is a registered private school of foreign languages opened in September 2009. It is situated in the centre of town, 22/7, Prvomajska Street in Subotica.
In ‘LC SMART’, apart from English, students can learn German and Italian language. The courses are for children, teenagers, and adults as well as for those who want to learn or improve some of the offered languages.
Work is in small groups. Children are placed in a group according to their age while adults do the placement tests before starting the course and according to the test result, they are put in the appropriate group. The placement test is free and after completing it, students do not have an obligation to enroll in the school.
Holidays
A school year begins in September and lasts between the 20th to 23rd of December. Then students have a winter holiday which lasts for three weeks. The second term ends on the 20 or 21st of June. Students have a break for Easter holidays and on the 1st and 2nd May. All other days are regular working days.
Conditions
A fee is paid on monthly basis regardless of a student’s attendance. However, students who miss the lesson can have an extra lesson to make up for the missed lesson or the teacher will inform the student what has been done in the certain lesson. The fee is for 4 lessons of an hour and a half a week (2 school lessons- 90 minutes) while individual lessons last an hour. In January and June, since we have only three lessons, students pay less. In June we have three lessons, where one is for the preparation for the final test, the second one is the final test and at the final lesson we hand out the certificates, have a quiz, play some games and have fun. Students get their certificates after passing the final test.
Lessons
In ‘LC SMART’ English lessons are taught from books which are originally published in England and lessons are in a certain way extra lessons but there is also a possibility to do the preparations for the tests and written tasks children need for school. As far as German and Italian courses are concerned, everything is arranged with teachers.
